Paying It Forward

When I started the Daily OM Facebook group over a year ago, I did it as my way of Paying it Forward for the Dailyom.com I wanted to help get the word out about the amazing notes that were a gift, so I set out to find out more. The Daily OM is written by a group of very gifted writers every weekday. (If you have not been to the site yet, you can also sign up for the Daily Hoiscopes.) Instead of just posting the Daily OM on my websites, where it would only 5% of the site, I created this group so that it could be 95% and 5% my stuff. Through this group and our Page, I have helped turn thousands of people onto the Daily OM. http://www.dailyom.com/

So, every single week day, my ritual, is to “Pay it Forward,” and send the Daily OM note on to you. This is my gift to YOU, even if I am traveling, I somehow always find a way to send it out…even if I have to be up at 2am in get it out. WE even have a FB fan page for people to interact in a discussion about the Daily OM topics.

I have been asked a lot lately how I manage to do everything that I do..in my effort to make the world a better place. In addition to being the Mother of my ‘Brady Bunch’, I am the President of Stock Harmony http://www.stockharmony.com/ , I have over 20 FB groups and pages, I created the “Power Thoughts”, Daily Affirmation FB application that have had over 350,000 apps sent out, I have 2 radio shows, (Stock Talk Radio & Inspired By YOU on Planting Seeds for Peace Radio) I have also started creating mini movies [on our group wall] , helped with the sale of “Beyond the Secret DVD,” as well as maintaining my blogs http://www.eaupening.blogspotcom/ & http://www.stockharmony.blogspot.com/ , supporting my husband with our electrical company… & creating PEACE day events around the world…for Peace Day. (so if you are a musician or a teacher…we could use your assistance with Peace Day…September 21st.)

Through this venue of social networking I have made it my policy to elevate others… and through that, the work itself has elevated me…for that I am most humbled by the honor of being of service and providing thought provoking information infused with true value.

Since I have almost reached the Facebook limit for friends, and I have 400 people waiting to become my friend, I have built myself a fan page. That way if people would like to learn more about me… and ALL that I am up to, they can. My life is an open book, full of amazing learning opportunities on my part. If through sharing my life learning with others helps to inspire them to step into their own greatness, I am happy to do so. I have had some incredible adventures and plan on having many many more. The People that I have had the privilege of meeting and learning from will blow you away. I am a student of life, I read everything from Investment strategy books to spiritual wisdom and everything in-between. I have heard it said many times that the Law of Attraction is all about , “what can I GET..” The way that I look at it is… What can I do with it! The Road to Peace

All things first begin to form in Thought. Thoughts move into CONVERSATION and then progress into ACTION. Every great leader in all aspects of life started with a single thought, a divine inspiration. Over and over I hear statements like “thoughts become things”, “we are what we think”, “where attention goes energy flows,” and ‘“change your thoughts and you will change your world!” The same process applies to creating Peace on Earth. In years gone by, we have had an abundance of inspired leaders plant the seeds for the growth of Peace throughout our planet.

We have had amazing people pioneer the way by fearlessly standing tall in the belief that not only can we all live in harmony but we are all connected, our fundamental needs and desires are all the same. Throughout time these mentors have started the conversation about the possibilities of PEACE. Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy are just some of the dedicated Legends that helped to highlight the necessity for Peace.

Even though these phenomenal people have passed on; their Intention to make this world a better place still exists. All over the world people are talking, lighting candles, and living their talk of Peace. People have gathered together physically and in thought to connect into the collective consciousness in order to fulfill the objective of bringing about Peace on Earth. A great person in my life once told me that, “All things can be solved in conversation! ALL Things.” Are you being included in this conversation?

We have created a group on facebook called, “Celebrating the PEACE of Legends!” http://groups.to/peacelegends/ All sorts of people in our past and present are creating a medium open to all interested in contributing to the REVELOUTION of Peace. It is not a movement because a movement will come to an end at some point. This Peaceful revelation will transform the earth as we know it.

I am writing this note today with the intention of helping you understand that the universe does not choose the qualified, it qualifies the chosen. You do not have to be a prophet, have a huge network, have barrels of money or become a martyr in order to make a difference. All you have to do is join the conversation. So weather you join our facebook group or any of the other great groups, attend a prayer rally, or light a candle in the name of Peace, this is your invitation to become a part of something much greater than anything we have ever known. Become Peace with in and as the Law of Attraction suggests that like attracts like by turning to Peace we receive more of the same. Please know that uniting in Peace and peaceful actions you are changing your world. Be the Change.....

Customer Service is NOT Just a Department!

It is very important to know that… we Don’t know…what we Don’t know! This applies to everything from why someone may have cut us off on the highway, or why someone may be known as “the grumpy old man” , or what a person was doing just moments before returning an item.

WE don’t know..that perhaps the ‘rude’ person that cut you off in traffic, may be on their way to deliver a baby. The man that everyone refers to as grumpy, may be that way because he lived a very hard life, perhaps his pension fell through and he has to work as a crossing guard to pay his rent.. because he just lost his house. Or perhaps this elderly person had his drivers license taken away because his eyesight is failing, so every morning he rides his mobile cart across the bridge rain or shine.. just to get out of his house…or to go to the cemetery everyday without fail.. to visit his wife who passed away 15 years earlier.

My point with all of this is… our perspective makes all of the difference. When we see the entire picture and all of the events as a whole, our educated response will more often than not be completely different than it would have been when we only held partial information. With a different perspective, we would be able to show more compassion, love and understanding rather than rudeness and abruptness.

Saturday morning, my husband , a couple of our kids and I were at the retirement home in the city to visit his grandmother. She turned 90 in January and is holding on to this life until we are all ready to let her go. She was suffering from cardiac failure; she was still holding on. We visited for awhile even though she can no longer speak, we touched her hand, looked at pictures, sang to her and all held her probably for the last time. With tear stained checks we left about an hour later.

Since we were in the city, we went to a couple of stores to get ready for our son’s 5th birthday. While we were there, we brought some things back to the store for our sister in-law. The box was so heavy that my husband had to carry it in from the truck. We had the receipt, the cashier circled the items and rang it into the till. When she asked for the credit card that the items were purchased with.. we never had it, since the items were not bought by us… so I suggested applying it back onto the card (since they have the number on the receipt)..or store credit. The cashier called her supervisor to ask if that was alright.. she told her supervisor what was happening…and then she turned her back to us and whispered something in the phone. After hanging up the phone, she said…”we just can’t do it…it is store policy!”

Store Policy… what happened to the days where the customer is always right. When did corporations grow this amazing sense of entitlement? Without customers… there would be no corporation….so why are customers treated like cattle. The process of returning items is already inconvenient…now this time…it means that our sister in-law is going to have to make another hour long trip into the city..with her 2 – 5 year olds…and her 1 year old… while packing a box that is too heavy to carry… and start all over because she has the credit card that matches the receipt…all for $16.00.

Perhaps knowing that I was just visiting our dying grandmother may have made the difference .. in creating some compassion. Or knowing that we drove an hour to get to the city… or that my sister would be packing 3 little children after diving another hour to get to the store may have helped. Having retail management experience in my background, I know that there is always something that can be done to please a customer…. Because word of mouth is really everything, it is in the ‘stores’ best interest. How do you ever measure the implications of a person’s actions..or non-action. This $16.00 could cost the company the thousands and thousands of dollars that I would potential spend in this store over my lifetime… or perhaps the hundreds of thousands that my family might have spent… not to mention the millions of dollars of my readers.

Maybe this perspective would have made the difference. Perhaps looking past my glasses to see the tears that I held back for our Grandmother… What if..everyone that was in an industry of service..treated the customers like they had all come into the store after saying their last goodbye to someone they loved. What if..we ALL interacted with compassion, love and understanding?

Since we just don’t know, what we don’t know..what if we made “Customer Service” the attitude of gratitude… appreciation for the customers that come into our stores because without them… we would not have a job to begin with!
