BE A Leader

Leadership is leading by example, walking the walk and never asking anyone to do anything that you are not willing to do yourself. It is someone who guides and inspires others towards the accomplishment of a collective goal, mission, or vision. Inspire others to be creative, work hard to accomplish things instead of requiring them to get things done - is a much better solution.

Dwight Eisenhower said, “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”

Each one of us was sent to this earth to become Life Long Learners. From the time we were born we have a thirst to learn and the need to experience new things; however, too many of us go through life just mildewing our way to retirement. The result leaves us unsatisfied, unchallenged and often lifeless.

It is powerful to realize that attention goes, energy flows! When we drink from the fountain of knowledge we are continually investing in ourselves by fuelling our life tank of edification. I am not saying to drop everything and go back to school, (unless you want to) I am saying, read a book, listen to an audio book, listen to your parents and grandparents, and learn something new. Step away from the computer and start asking questions…as long as you are truly ready to “Listen and HEAR” the answer. Spend some time learning how other people experienced life and the lessons they learnt. Take a look at how it was done in the past and then create your own outcome. Leaders stand out in a crowd because of their ability to influence others through vision, integrity, authenticity and self confidence. They possess humility, focus, people skills, and effective communication skills.

Great Leaders are Mentors that build a team of the right people and put them into a position that highlights that individuals’ straight while recognizing and praising the team member’s accomplishments. Mentors spend time in all areas of the company learning from the front line as well as being able to gain perspective of the big picture of the corporate setting. They share information- knowledge is power, arm your staff with all of the tools they need to reach their goals. Long gone are the days of Management by dictatorship…"if you don't like it, then we can find ten other people to do your job!" We now live in a time where employers must create a culture that inspires greatness in employees [a time that all staff yearn to make a difference and feel they are important to the company they work for.] Managers must listen more then ever to the needs and desires of their staff. The more ideas that are shared the more solutions that are created. Also, very importantly, Leaders have Mentors to whom they turn for opinions and ideas.

Finally, the old saying of, “God gave you two ears and only one mouth for a reason,” is so true because we should be listening twice as much as we speak. Listening is a much undeveloped talent that we all continually need to work on. Far too often we enter into a conversation only waiting for the other person to finish speaking just so that we can talk. We stand there looking at them intently rehearsing what our reply is going to be instead of really hearing what the other person is saying. In order to truly become good at anything we must practice, Listening like all talents must be utilized continually …strive to fully develop your talent of Listening. Good leaders must be willing to handle opinions contrary to their own and absorb as much as they can. Learn all that you can about your team members and strive to build strong relationships. Never take them for granted… create an ownership mentality. When staff are treated like equals, they will respond in the same way, they will strive for greatness in all they do. When you take care of your employees, they will in turn take care of your customers…who are they reason why you are in business in the first place. Never forget that and you have the recipe for success.

The three key ingredients that make up a great leader:

Lead by Example
Be a Life Long Learner
Listen twice as much as you speak.

From ME to WE!

The other day while reflecting about the friend limit that I have reached on facebook and how I can no longer add any more friends, I asked a friend how she created such an amazing twitter following, she said that she had a handful of fantastic re-tweeters and great friends…and the rest was just numbers.

She then asked how I do everything that I have created. My reach may not be as deep … but it is extremely wide. With 8 twitter accounts, (linked to some of my facebook pages) 22 groups that I am administrator of (the majority I have created) radio shows, applications, websites , magazines I write for and more. How do I do it? …well…I just do. ..because nobody told me I couldn’t!

My access to outstanding people spans the globe. With the touch of a button, I can share, learn and grow with thousands and thousands… and thousands. It may look like I do everything, however, from a different perspective, I have a huge network of amazing people working together..sharing with each other. They are OUR groups, pages, sites, etc…

For example: I have not personally sent 800,000 applications (that I built) around the world… it was YOU. I simply provided the gift of my own talent.
My ability to embrace many, in multiple areas of interest has facilitated all types of possibilities. I AM a network connector…bridging the gap between business, investing, leadership, natural laws, personal development, charity and spirituality. Part of my purpose is to highlight the potential of working together as WE…rather than working alone as ME.

Globally we are entering a new era of joint ventures and elevating others by offering a hand up rather than a hand out! Transforming the patterned mindsets of climbing my own way to the top, to that of one where we step into abundance together. Working collectively for the greater good of the entire planet is the direction our human evolution is taking us on in this journey of learning.

From the state of mind of “WE”, we are able to transcend the F.E.A.R of limiting beliefs and step into the new earth where people work jointly rather than against. WE allow the opportunity to see things through eyes of others and ask, how can we help?…Rather than telling people what they need! WE will work Together..as ONE!

Self Healing...How to:

I have done alot of different things to be able to learn and grow... and let go. However one of the very most important things I did, was to get honest with myself. Pure loving honesty that came without my own judgement. Writing that book really did help me. Self work, will help your children's Parent become a much more loving, caring and understanding person. It helps your patience level and can be the first step in becoming the person that YOU want to be.

Since WE teach people how to treat us.... it really does start with ourselves. If we don't love who were are... how can we expect anyone else to?

Make a list.... step outside who you are right now, make a list about everything in your life that you are packing around (emotionally ) that is not serving you in becoming the person that YOU want to be... (not the definition of who YOU think someone else wants you to be.) Make the list, JUDGEMENTFREE, include even the things that don't seem all that big... if it comes to mind... write it down.

I am not going to kid you... this is something that takes time. It has taken a lifetime to compile all of the hurts & scares that you have in your life.... but it won't take a lifetime to heal them.... just time.

Next take the list and break it down. In a scribbler, define what that item meant to you at the time...and what you have now made it mean in your life.... what you have learnt from it and if it is a repeated pattern in your life.

Take the time to do that with everything on your list. Don't worry about printing, spelling or anything... this book is for YOU, and judgement doesn't matter.. Judgement is not allowed here.

Even though this seems like a mountain of work... I promise you... YOU are Worth it! You are worth the time it will take to heal... your family is worth it... and everyone that YOU are in contact with... is worth it... YOU are doing this for YOU.. but you are also doing this... to heal the generations past and future... YOU are WORTH IT!

As you write... do it from a mindset of strength.... power... and victim free! You are doing this, to allow yourself the opportunity to live your NOW by design...and not by default. Know that YOU are not alone, you are safe... and YOU have the tools inside of YOU to Allow your healing.

So grab... your pen, paper, kleenex and prepare for peace of mind...
Step 1 Awareness..without Judgement ..and pure Honesty...with yourself
Step 2 Understanding...and SELF Forgiveness
Step 3 Releasing the Baggage
Step 4 Defining who YOU want to BE
Step 5 Taking Action .... (the energy that you place here is very important) I have several radio show about this to listen to if you need assistance.

My dear friend. Know that YOU are not alone. Everything up to this moment, has been perfect in the big picture... for your own learning. YOU have the power to remove..your own judgement, guilt, and negativity from the vocabulary of your own mind chatter. Within YOU is the LOVE that you need in order to step through the place where you are now... to the place that YOU want to BE.

Take the drivers seat of your life...release the resistance and start enjoying the ride that is your own human experience! You are a divine being.... being human... so transform your life from a 'human doing....' to a human BEing...who, what and where YOU want to be...instead of who YOU think YOU should be because of a pattern that YOU created in your life.

YOU can do it... I believe in YOU... you are worth it!

From Coal to Diamonds

Today I had to take some supplies to my husband; he was working at one of the local mines that is the furthest from our house. Even though it was not an emergency I volunteered to drive up rather than sending them up on the transport truck. In his mind he thinks that I am doing him a favor..but in mine…the drive is a favor to me. Driving for me is like meditation. It allows me the opportunity to think about all of the thoughts that are rolling around in my head.

This particular drive allows me to appreciate the majestic beauty that is the Canadian Rocky Mountains since the mine is at the end of the road 5400 feet above sea level. Without fail every time that I have traveled this road, I have been blessed with the opportunity to enjoy the local wildlife. I have seen bears, moose, deer, elk and big horn sheep… today I had 2 bald eagles follow me up the highway for miles until they got distracted with showing off for me by showing off for each other.

Since it is a coal mine in a series of coal mines, there are coal seems that run all over the valleys. There are places along the journey that years ago were struck by lightning, which caused fires to ignite underground and continued to burn for years and years. As I drove past one of these locations I could not help but think of the underground fires that I had burned in me for years and years. Like the coal fire, most of the damage was never visible on the surface. Once and awhile, some outside smoke could be seen, but for the most part I kept the burning inferno invisible to people outside my close circle of friends.

For far too long I let the fires of fear, denial, self loathing and unworthiness burn in me. They showed up in my life as outward manifestations of failed relationships, mistrust, betrayal and self sabotage. I would stop myself from reaching my goals because I felt that I was fake and undeserving. Like the coal fires burning in the mountains, I had a fuel source that would last for generations. The sad part was, I was so quick to judge other people and offer solutions to “FIX” there situations, it wasn’t until I got sick of hearing a friend’s husband whine and complain about being the way he was because his father was an alcoholic, that I opened the door for my own self healing.

I was determined to let him know that people in the world had been through much more traumatic circumstances and could show up as responsible, reliable adults and stop blaming their childhoods for making them the way they were. So, I started to write a book about every nasty, painful nitty-gritty detail of my life. It included everything from the first time that I had sex ,to the night that I had a gun held to my head all night long. I wrote about being rapped while my little kids were just up the hallway. This book detailed my childhood traumas to having to fight 2 years to get a divorce. I created a beautifully scrapbooked example of everything from my life…but with it, I included the lessons that I learnt with each event. After 1 week of writing every night after my children were tucked in bed until almost sunrise I was finished. I had written “my Story” that I had been packing around for way to many years. I gave the book to my friend for her and her husband to read… and I don’t know if, he got my point about worse things have happened to people.. and they turned out ok; but ..the experience of purging the baggage that I had carried with me for an entire life was healing for me and everyone around me.

The book of my experiences allowed me to walk though everything in my life from a different perspective and for the first time… I forgave myself for directing my life the way that I had done. The burning coal inside of me, was distinguished and prevented from turning into an out of control forest fire. The coal in me had turned to diamonds …shiny examples of where I once was and how strong I have become; even though some of my diamonds are still being polished…I am not scared for people to see them. Since the ‘book’ I have been on a journey of self discover, understanding, humility and love. I have become a person that is proud to look in the mirror and in the eyes of others.

How to: add this application to your own Profile.
To add a box and or Tab, on your profile...follow the steps below:
1. Click the "Applications" in the bottom left corner of any page.
2. Select the "Edit" link.
3. Click the "Edit" link to the right of any application.
4. Select the "Profile" tab of the window that appears.
5. Click the "add" link next to "Box."
6. Click the "add" link next to "tab."
