The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by resolution 36/67 of the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session, which was held annually on the third Tuesday of September. The first Peace Day was observed in September 1982. In 2001, the General Assembly by unanimous vote adopted resolution 55/282, which established 21 September as an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. The UN invites all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day, and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace.

Thank YOU Serendipity…..

I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank YOU.
I know that everything happens for a reason and at the time that you are going through it, something’s really are NOT great however when you give yourself some perspective, everything makes a lot more sense.

The little things like forgetting something when you get out to the car and having to run back inside the house, thus resulting you not being there right when a semi collides with the person in front of you instead of you or when you are in the right place at the wrong time, the events in the day seem to slowly shift your course. All of the incidents that happened today played out thankfully in a way that no one got hurt.

For some reason, we only had Kyrsten in our truck when we headed to the lake.  The other kids rode with Grandma & Grandpa.  On our way we stopped for fuel and so we were a little behind the convoy to the beach. The other couple vehicles had taken another road to explore a park that we had never been, which is why we ended up getting there before the rest of the family.  I hopped out to look at the beautiful water and see how long it would be before the boat launch would be available.

As I was walking I noticed two Hispanic gentlemen sitting in their blue SUV watching traffic as they passed each other their crack pipe. I never gave it a second thought as I made my way down to the dock.  While I waiting for my father in law to pull up, I was surprised to see my husband pull up on the hill above me, he yelled out that someone had just stolen my purse out of the truck, and he sped off!

The rest of the family pulled up and everyone jumped into action.  Maxine called the police; Wayne leapt on the radio and got the rest of the story from Brad.  Apparently Brad had gotten out of the truck and walked about 100 yards from the truck awaiting everyone’s arrival. As Kyrsten sat in the truck watching the rest of the movie, the SUV that I had seen earlier pulled up beside the truck.  The passenger in a red stripped shirt hopped out and opened up the door on the passenger side of the truck.  Kyrsten yelled at him because she was shocked and scared to see this tan man with shaved head in our truck.  Thankfully the Angels were watching her because he took my purse and left her alone.  Kyrsten watched them drive away and ran out and told her dad.

Thankfully the Police were there in about 5 minutes as well as a couple of people that had herd our chatter on the CB Radio.  The police took my statement in-between my Credit card cancelling conversations.  The interesting part is later learning that because of my purse containing one of the kids’ passports …. This little purse napping has just turned to a Felony.

The moments that built this day, added up to tears, hours of phone calls, no boat ride, maybe $1000.00 to replace my phone, birth certificates, licence, passport, etc.  It could have played out so much worse, so I am Thankful that it happened the way that it did. No one was Hurt!

I am sorry that these men needed the money in my purse more than I did.  I send them love and my gratitude that they never hurt the one thing that I cannot replace with phone calls…. My Brave Precious little Angel; Kyrsten.

Social Media as a Natural Living System

I was asked to Define Social Media as an organic natural living system. I think that the very best comparison that can be made is to liken it to Trees.... even though there may be some other characteristics that need to be added, I think that the following trees are the most like the Social Networks below... what are your thoughts?

•Linked in is an Orchard... even though there may be seasonal fruit, for the most part it falls to the ground and disappears in its environment.

 •Twitter is like a Shrub .... little twigs can spring up anywhere. However the issue is most people don't notice them.

Facebook is a Larch tree.... (Christmas Tree) you can decorate your own tree, add bling and when you get it exactly where you want it, the system drops its needles and it changes! It is the coniferous tree that transforms with change of attitudes of its creator!

 •YouTube is an Oak Tree... it can be planted alone or in clusters. It is mighty on its own and will withstand the tests of time and transformation of its environment.

•This tree has a very strong core... bears fruit, transforms with the seasons, works with its environment to adapt to change. Has a very strong root system from the bottom up... but is most unique because of its ability to let roots plant in from the top down as well. The top down growth allows the core to grow at an amazing rate, strengthening the main system, working together even though the individual top down roots start off alone, they combine with other roots (members) in collaboration to achieve their collective goals faster and more securely.

Collectively Creation. Even though our branches may go out in a different direction... we are all a part of the same system. Working together to help us all grow stronger as a team. The reason why people will invest in UnitingCreatives is because of the strength of the team that we have in place rather than the limbs of the individual. (We really need to keep that in mind when we are coming up with our UC information.)

Are YOU Here?

I just had the pleasure of meeting one of my favorite people on the planet, Wayne Dyer! During his presentation he quoted, "What is Real? That is Real that Never Changes!"

Think about that for a moment.... considering that we ourselves are always changing, at every moment. We no longer have the same cells that we had when we were twenty. The body that we came to earth with has grown and taken many forms. So according to the statement above ..WE are not real.

Taking that thought to the next level, I want to make sure that you understand that YOU are not your circumstances. You are not your Job, your bank account, you are not the story that you tell yourself you are.

Who You are is an individualized expression of Greatness.... YOU have the ability to Design your life and the Impact that YOU make during your time on earth.

Every Choice you make, Every Action YOU take.... Everything that YOU do Matters... YOU Matter! You are not who you were last year, you are not who you were in your youth... YOU are who YOU are... Now, so Choose to be the very Best YOU, you can be. Let go of the limiting beliefs about who you thought you were and BE the Divine Spirit that you are.
